Where can you access an abortion in NB paid for by the government?
-
Your Primary Care Provider
If you can access your doctor or nurse practitioner quickly, speak with them. If they do not provide abortion services, they must refer you to someone who does. You do not require any referral to call the Family Planning Clinics and speak with someone.
-
Moncton & Bathurst Hospitals
If you live in Moncton or Bathurst, or are able to travel to either of those cities, contact the Family Planning Clinics located in those cities directly for an appointment. You do not need a referral - you can call them yourself.
-
Sexual Health Clinics
The Fredericton Downtown CHC sees patients from across the province through virtual appointments. If you are able to travel to Saint John, Moncton or Bathurst and are eligible for a medical abortion, call those clinics listed on the “Abortion Types” webpage. You do not need a referral - you can call them yourself.
